NeoCons – Adisseo Round Table in Kecskemét

We have reached the first milestone of our nearly half-year distributor activity on April 10, since we had the opportunity to welcome our partners and many prospective customers interested in our work and our products. Our event was held in Kecskemét, an easily accessible town of the Great Plain. The primary goal of our Round Table was to deliver value and gain new knowledge to be integrated into our daily work for efficient and effective operation. In this endeavour, we were supported by Miklós Mézes, Dr., the head of the Department of Feed Science at Szent István University in Gödöllő, István Szabó and Darius Boberski, representatives of Adisseo and Edit Árendás, the raw material trader of Neocons Plus Kft. Our flagship, the French Adisseo, with $ 1.55 billion annual income of the French company and more than 2500 partners, is a major player in the global feed market. The company’s mission is to provide products and services to its partners that guarantee the safety of people and the environment. In 2006, they joined the Bluestar Group, allowing access to the world’s largest growing raw material market, behind the Great Wall. For our partners, popular Adisseo products became available again in the summer of 2017. Our palette is now enriched by Rhodimet NP99 DL-methionine, the hydroxy analog NP99 liquid methionine, organic selenium (Selisseo), the Rovabio enzyme family, the Microvit vitamin basket, sodium sulphate (Adisodium) competing with baking soda, and the Alterion probiotics, which will be available soon.
Our joint day was opened by our managing director, Zsolt Bódi.
He summarized the current situation and role of the feed industry in the growth of the world’s population with some concise thoughts. About 1 billion tons of feed are produced annually in the world, of which about 4 million tons are delivered to Hungary. This sector is also characterized by increasingly stringent environmental regulations, reducing the use of antibiotics and establishing healthy, high-quality products. To promote this effort, feed supplements are increasingly coming to the fore. NeoCons Plus Kft develops and markets supplements mixed into the feed or drinking water that promote sustainable farming and provide livestock farmers with an economical solution. The vision of our family business is to develop an antibiotic-free, healthy feeding that benefits both users and end product consumers. Our product range is also tailor-made to our customers according to this principle.
Presentation of Professor Mézes
Professor Mézes started to analyse a serious but interesting topic about the role of selenium in protecting against oxidative stress. During the easy-to-understand presentation typical of Miklós Mézes, we have learnt that by the end of the day heat stress develops in the room due to the high attendance and the brilliant spring weather, which will induce the formation of reactive oxygen radicals. In response, evolution developed an effective defence mechanism, the antioxidant protection system. One way to protect against oxidative stress is to protect your body with selenium and vitamin E, which has a boosting effect on immunity, maintaining a healthy intestinal tract, as well as reproductive and growth-enhancing effects. Hungary’s soil is generally deficient in selenium. However, astragalus and lokoweed species accumulate greater amounts of selenium (1000-15000 mg/kg) than usual, while Brazil nut, rapeseed, broccoli, cabbage, onion, garlic and leek contain high levels of selenium in the form of Se-methyl-selenocysteine and γ-glutamyl-Se-methyl-selenocysteine. The selenium content of food of animal origin varies widely, ranging from 0.01 to 0.42 mg/kg depending on the species of animal, the value of which can be increased with organic selenium source (selenomethionine, selenohydroxymethyl methionine). Swordfish, tuna, mackerel and sardines contain 0.32-0.46 mg/kg selenium in the form of selenate and selenite.
Researches of Professor Surai Peter regarding organic selenium point out – as already presented at a previous conference in Amsterdam – that only SeMet is stored for a longer period among organic selenium sources. The next speaker was István Szabó, the representative of Adisseo, who reported on the benefits of Selisseo, the organic selenium manufactured by the company. Seleno-hydroxymethionine (OH-SeMet) is 100% pure, heat stable, can be pelleted without loss and supports the achievement of better production indicators (milk production, egg yield, eggshell hardness, fertility indicators, long-term maternal effect).
This was followed by an interesting presentation from István, who, for the second time during the day, mentioned population growth and increased production, for which enzymes are inevitable. Today, more than 50% of the feed is treated with enzyme. It is important to pay attention to the added value and savings, besides the costs, since almost 20% of the feed is not digestible. To promote this, Adisseo has developed the concept of “feedáz”, based on which the Rovabio Advance enzyme was born. The product contains arabinofuranosidase, phytase and xylanase, simultaneously improving the utilization of calcium, phosphorus and amino acids and fibre decomposition. The second-generation version, Rovabio Advanced Phy, supplemented with beta-glucanase, can increase the digestibility of feeds with up to 7%, said Darius Boberski, a newly joined feed specialist of the company. During his presentation, he introduced the “Predictor” self-developed enzyme user program, which helps the work of professionals working in production using a special enzyme matrix. The formulation process adjusts the AME level of the feed, the expected digestibility, the ideal protein ratio, helps to avoid high fibre intake and drastic oil or fat reduction. The program is available to those interested on the Adisseo website free of charge.
The day was closed by Edit Árendás, the company’s raw material trader, with the presentation of sodium sulphate, AdiSodium. In addition to its high Na content, the product can reduce the cost of feeding monogastric animals with its acidifying effect. 1kg baking soda is equivalent to 0.84kg AdiSodium. In addition, reducing the use of rock salt (in place of Cl) creates additional space in the recipe, which can be used to further reduce costs. Being another added value of the product, it reduces the pH of the litter, thereby reducing ammonia emissions and improving the air quality of the building, resulting in a drier litter.
We closed the eventful day with a hearty lunch and an informal conversation with our partners, who seemed to be happy to talk about some more serious professional topics or to recall old memories with long-time-no-see career fellows. We were happy to find that there is a need for similar events not only in order to gain new knowledge but also to establish direct human contacts.
