Vitafort's National Professional Meeting
Similarly to previous years, Vitafort Zrt. held its National Professional Partner Meeting, organized every year in the heart of Hungary, Dabas, attracting more and more partners every year. On the event organized on May 23, our company has been represented as an exhibitor and lecturer for the third time. In addition to the wonderful weather, the possibilities of cultural and culinary experiences were also incredible.
Mr. Zoltán Kulik CEO was talking about the 4th Industrial Revolution. In his opinion, we need to follow this enormous industrial and electronic innovation, or rather we are already doing so. In many cases, machines make our work easier and reduce the possibility of error.
Nowadays, the situation of workforce is crucial, since many plants are struggling to find qualified and dedicated colleagues for care or maintenance tasks. Our partners tell us many times that many years ago there was specialized training in animal care in secondary schools, which have by now disappeared due to the lack of interest. The plants cannot be mechanized to the extremes, human attention, sensitivity, thinking and consciousness cannot be replaced. In Austria, for example, 20% of asparagus could not be harvested because of the lack of guest workers and the lack of sufficient workforce. To refute this, Mr. Kulik proudly reported that, on this year’s company family day, more than 30 employees were awarded a memorial plaque for 20, 25, 30 years of persistent work.
Thanks to the revolution of the machines, new jobs are created mainly in the IT sector. Several young people worldwide were asked about what profession they would like to choose. In Hungary 8%, while in South-East Asia 85% of young people are preparing to be an IT colleague.
The worldwide feed production
The worldwide feed production exceeded 1 billion tonnes in 2016. Vitafort Zrt manufactures premix for 800-850 thousand tons of feed worldwide. According to Mr. Kulik, Africa and Asia are the potential future markets for European feed.
NEOVIA has been a strategic partner of the company for 27 years. They have 11 research centres worldwide, so 140 scientists from 16 countries share 180-250 research reports annually with Vitafort Zrt. From this relationship, they also receive useful things like the Mycowatch® application, which has also been described in detail regarding use and download.
With our knowledge, our ignorance grows, the saying goes. The future is unstoppable. This is what the majority of the day was about. After guest performances – which deeply explored the possibilities of drone technology and the application of other novel 21st century achievements – everyone could choose between the professional sessions of the animal sections as we wished. There was no shortage of new and exciting topics:
- for example, a colleague of NeoCons, Balázs Molnár, Dr. talked about the current challenges in the egg market;
- we could meet the new possibilities of heifer education in the cattle workshop, but we could also get insight into the benefits of rumen-protected vitamins;
- simultaneously, in the pig section, we received further information on the current situation of African swine fever, the responsible use of antibiotics, and the unique look into the applicability of nutrigenomics in pig feed.
During the breaks between the lectures, we had the opportunity to walk on the product road, which is a great idea from the host. This way the company’s partners can introduce their products, which can also be tasted by many visitors. Our company was present this year too at Vitafort Zrt’s “home stand” with a number of current products and solutions with some of our market partners, where we had the opportunity to talk more directly with our partners.
Finally, we closed the day with a delicious lunch, great company and Caramel’s fantastic concert. We hope to see you too next year.
